WOD Monday 13th January ’14

Workout of the Day 15min AMRAP block run 6 hang power cleans 3 front squats Tuesday - 19.15 - there is no WOD on, Olympic lifting is on instead.  This class costs just £3 per person and is taught by Ray Cavanagh of Weightlifting Scotland.  This class is available to anyone, you do not need to be a member of CFG nor do you need to be an accomplished weightlifter, all ability levels and ages are welcome! I would like to say congratulations to everyone who completed the first Fundamentals class of 2014 last weekend.  We look forward to seeing you all in the gym over the coming week and if you need any help or advice I am certain every member and coach will only be too happy to help out. Feb 1st - Scott Houston and Omercan Cirit will be having a movement seminar at CFG.  More details can be found here Feb 15th - we are pleased to announce we will be hosting Benni Magnusson for a deadlifting seminar!  More details to follow shortly.  Spaces will be extremely limited so watch this space for when registration opens.  We can not add anyone early.

'From the ground up'   New ways for you to improve performance and follow better movement patterns in your daily lifestyle. Parkour coach Omercan Cirit and Movement Artist Scott Houston won't just educate about new ways for your body to move that will develop your strength, balance and coordination but will deliver an intense day of training from a very different perspective. The focus of which is to improve performance in any area you choose to continue. This movement seminar focuses on 3 detailed areas in the following order: 1. A visual presentation and break down of the highly detailed and complex structure of the Scapula and it's connecting muscles. Correct mechanics of the Scapula. A small focus on the pelvis and it's connecting tissues and movement patterns. 2. A unique warm up including beneficial movement cues and patterns that help you better understand engaging and strengthening external rotation. Patterns are referenced from several disciplines. 3. New, innovative exercises relating to several disciplines with movements from Parkour, Gymnastics, Chinese Martial Arts, Capoeira, and others for you to apply your new found knowledge including CrossFit. The Coaches: Omercan Cirit is a qualified Parkour coach with years of Parkour, Capoeira, weightlifting, bodyweight training and Crossfit experience. He worked with various groups and clients over the years to build his own portfolio of movement skills and training methods. Workout of the Day 20min emom odds - 8 toes to bar evens - 5 handstand press ups Tuesday - 19.15 - there is no workout, instead there will be Olympic lifting.  Class costs £3 per head and lasts an hour.  You do not need to be a member nor book in to attend.  Simply turn up and pay cash.  It's a great clas to work on your technique and is suitable for people of all levels. There is no mobility this week. CrossFit Glasgow will be hosting Scotland's first ever CrossFit Level 1 Trainer Course.  This will be on March 22nd and 23rd.  Spaces are extremely limited, you can book your space by clicking this link and paying $250 deposit.
