This Saturday, starting at 11am, the Scottish Open Weightlifting event will be held here at CrossFit Glasgow!  All are welcome to come and spectate free of charge.  There are a lot of lifters registered and is set to be a great event. Tonight is Jonny's mobility class at 7.15pm, learn how to take care of your body and improve your mobility.  Just £3 for members. We have Omega3 and speed ropes back in stock. Well done to all who took part in the Open, CrossFit Glasgow exceeded all expectations for it's first year and we look forward to seeing what can be achieved next year! This Saturday we will be hosting the Scottish Open Olympic Lifting competition, there will be no WODs this day however come along and watch the lifters.  There is no charge for spectating so come along and offer the lifters your support.  A few members will be lifting as well! Tonight, 8pm Olympic Lifting with Ray and Haris, £6 for members, £10 for non-members and £4 for registered lifters to attend this 60min session and be taught by some of the best coaches in Scotland! Wednesday 7.15pm mobility class just £3 to members. Thursday 7pm conditioning for parkour: free to members.  This should be attended at least once by every member, don't miss this class! Paleo challenge ends next week.  Well done to all participants and keep up the good work, stay strong to the last day! This week Olympic Lifting is on Tuesday at 8pm, Wednesday is mobility at 7.15pm, Thursday is parkour at 7pm and Sunday is the team WOD at 11am. The gym is hosting the scottish open on the 31st of March and as such there will be no WODs on Saturday.  However you are all welcome to attend the event and watch some of the best lifters in Scotland compete, there is no entrance fee so feel free to stop by for a few hours and cheer everyone on! WOD  12.5 Complete as many reps as possible in 7 minutes following the rep scheme below: 100/65 pound Thruster, 3 reps 3 Chest to bar Pull-ups 100/65 pound Thruster, 6 reps 6 Chest to bar Pull-ups 100/65 pound Thruster, 9 reps 9 Chest to bar Pull-ups 100/65 pound Thruster, 12 reps 12 Chest to bar Pull-ups 100/65 pound Thruster, 15 reps 15 Chest to bar Pull-ups 100/65 pound Thruster, 18 reps 18 Chest to bar Pull-ups 100/65 pound Thruster, 21 reps 21 Chest to bar Pull-ups... This is a timed workout. If you complete the round of 21, go on to 24. If you complete 24, go on to 27, etc. The final WOD of the CrossFit Games Open!  Get in and give it your best shot! We will be closed this Saturday and the next due to Strongman certification and Scottish Open the following week.  We apologise for any inconvenience however this is out of our control.  The gym will be open from 9am on Sunday.

Just one day to go before we get the final Games Open WOD.  This is will be our final opportunity to get CrossFit Glasgow as high up the affiliate rankings as possible so go as hard as you can!  Every rep counts. WOD In 15mins establish a 1RM squat/power clean thruster then 10min AMRAP Run the block twice before completing as many rounds as possible of: 10 strict press-ups 15 kb swings 30 double unders Post kg and rounds to comments. WOD 20th Mar ’12 CrossFit Glasgow

Just one more WOD for the 2012 CrossFit Games Open then CrossFit Glasgow can get back to a well-structured, regular training regime!  For those of the curious nature the next phase of programming is going to continue along the strength route.  Expect to squat.  As the weather improves you can also expect to see a few longer time domain WODs. Tonight there is Olympic Lifting at 8pm with Ray and Haris, if you haven't made it before, get it.  The class lasts an hour, costs £6 and is guaranteed to improve your speed, power and understanding of how to drop under a heavy barbell. WOD 10mins power snatch practice, go heavy then Tabata Front Squat (30-40% 1RM) then For time: 30 strict pull-ups every time you drop off the bar do 7 high box jump burpees (scale by using bands, box jumping on every 10 pull-ups or levitating)
