There are more immediate changes, but these ones are different. They are COVID related which means that, in the interim at least, things will be quite strict. We must adhere to certain government mandated guidelines in order to operate as a business, irrespective of our feelings on them. Our staff team and anyone that comes through our doors will need to abide by certain rules and processes. There will be a video we will release next weekend so you have a better idea of what coming into a class will look like and how the floor will be laid out. Due to the seriousness of COVID, we will be asking at this time for all members to sign a new COVID waiver, you will need to sign this in order to sign into classes on Wodify. This will be released next weekend also. We would also ask that you ensure your details on Wodify are updated to comply with the government’s track and trace program.
Here’s what we are looking at:
- We have added in a 05:30 class. Class times Mon – Fri: 05:30, 06:30, 07:30, 08:30, 10:30, 11:30 (Silvers), 12:30, 13:30, 16:30, 17:30, 18:30, 19:30, 20:30. 1 main class per day/member to allow all to participate (this excludes CFG Weightlifting).
- 2 concurrent classes will be held for the peak times (these are subject to change as we find out what our ‘new’ peak times are). The main WOD will be on the floor with a maximum of 12 people. The additional ‘Strength and Gymnastic’ classes will be in the rig area with a maximum of 6 people. Strength and Gymnastic classes will repeat throughout the week to allow everyone fair opportunity to book into them.
- Olympic Weightlifting (included in the Unlimited Package) will be: Mon – Fri at 19:30. Sat 11:00 and 12:15.
- Team WOD: Sat 08:00, 09:00, 10:00, 12:00
- Cardio WOD: Sun 09:00, 10:00
- StrongWOD: Sun 11:15, 12:30
- Teens will continue to be on Zoom or Clydeside (organised by Robyn), until further notice. Further details to come on class times etc.
- Kids will not be back until further guidance.
- Open gym will not be available until further notice.
- HomeWOD will still be available for the months to come for those who are not quite ready for coming back to the gym, there will be a Zoom class, Mon-Fri at 10:00. This 10:00 class will also include any Silvers that wish to zoom from home. YouTube briefs will continue and the workouts will be programmed to mirror the main WOD as closely as possible.
- Classes will be 45min to allow for turn over of class and cleaning of equipment. Essentially this means you will still finish class at the same time as before, despite the class time changing from 15min past the hour to 30min past the hour.
- Classes must be booked through WODIFY, bookings will open 36 hours prior to class.
- Membership prices will revert to what they were prior to COVID commencing August 31st.
- Limitation of 7x/class – be patient with us while we trial the increased number of classes and decreased number of members in the class.

- Temperatures will be taken as you enter CFG, both in A1 and A2. Please be patient with us as it’s as foreign feeling to our team as it is to you all. If your temperature is higher than 37.8, then unfortunately you will need to give your space up for that class and return home and contact NHS for testing.
- Upon entry, you must sanitize your hands, please make use of the stations set up.
- Workout stations will be set up the night before with all equipment in place for you in a taped off zone which you will be assigned to by a trainer.
- There will be no whiteboard ‘gathering’ to brief, we will go directly into taped area’s and the trainer will brief you from an appropriate social distance. This also means no scores will go up on the whiteboard and no use of the keyboard to input scores. Please utilize your phones for this.
- There will be a strict no tops off rule to minimize cleaning.
- Everything must be cleaned after class with cleaning supplies provided at your stations.
- In order to welcome the next class and to allow time for the coaches to clean all touch points, you will be asked to leave promptly after cleaning up.
- Sadly – no high fives.
- Showers will be closed until further guidance from the government.
- Bathrooms will be open, and cleaned each time a class comes through.

- Please be aware of 2m social distancing in typically congested areas such as the entrance.
- A2 will have no access to what was a store room, this will now be a 2nd office for staff with a mini shop so you don’t require access to A1 vending.
- There will be a strict no access to office areas in A1 & A2 or strongman area for members.
EQUIPMENT RETURNS
6 months ago we lent out our equipment for what we thought would be a month or so to anyone who wanted to use it at home for HomeWODs. Here we are, almost 6 months later and finally ready to open our doors again! So yes, we will need this back! We will be in the gym most of next week getting ready to open our doors on Monday, August 31st and to take equipment loans back. Here is the process:
- We will post on FB what times we will be in the gym each day. If you are not on FB, please contact a staff member to find out when this will be or email fundamentals@crossfitglasgow.
com - Once the equipment is returned, please ensure you have notified the staff member that is in so they can mark you off having returned it.
- Thereafter you will receive your £30 deposit via PayPal. Please leave the best email address for this with a member of staff.

We are working our best to bring us all together as a community again. Please be patient with us as we learn as we go along! Once we gain a little more experience and confidence in day to day operations and new procedures, we will hopefully be able to relax some of the above protocols, however always set within the guidance of the Scottish government.
This was a long read, thank you for seeing it to the end and the unwavering support you have given our CFG team over the past 6 months.
See you all soon!
