Hey Team!

Wow – what a week!  We have had such a positive response to reopening and are loving seeing all of you with a barbell in your hands and smiles on your faces . . . . even on bike days!  Everyone has been brilliant and on board with the new COVID procedures in the gym and it has made turning the room around much easier on our team.  Thank you.  

We are keeping up to date with all the latest guidance on the Scottish government website, and there is one to add in this week. The new guidance is to wear a mask while lining up outside the building, keep it on while we record your temperature and remove it once in your workout space.  Please put it back on when leaving.  Our team will be doing the same.  If you don’t have a super cool mask, we happen to have some CFG masks still in stock!

Just mention to a member of our team that you have an order to pick up and they will get it to you at the end of your session. We have Nocco, FitAid, all clothing items and vitamins currently available. 

Reminders:

  • Most of you have returned your equipment, thank you!  Please let us know if you have missed out on getting your deposit back, we think we have caught everyone but just in case!
  • Anyone on hold who has not been in touch with us, please let us know how you would like to proceed with your membership.  Those who have been on an extended hold, the hold is set to come off on the 14th of this month.  Please be aware that when you come off hold, it is very likely that your monthly payment date will have changed. 

 

Arch 1 Programming:

There has been some confusion surrounding the new set up with the strength and gymnastic sessions. Hopefully this will give you a better understanding of what we are currently offering and help you get the best of both worlds.  As classes get busier, we will increase the services as required.

  • Strength and Gymnastic classes run alongside the peak classes and you are welcome to book into either. Under the current circumstances we are struggling to accommodate certain kinds of heavy lifting; or gymnastics on the rig into the main classes and have set up smaller strength/gymnastics sessions for you.
  • The strength and gymnastics workouts are the same sessions repeated throughout the week and the two variations appear on alternate days.  For example, next week we have Gymnastics WOD on Mon/Wed/Fri and Strength WOD on Tues/Thurs.  The following week the pattern will switch (3 Strength, 2 Gymnastic).  
  • Strength/Gymnastic times are currently: 05:30, 06:30, 07:30, 17:30, 18:30
  • We are encouraging members to book only one class a day to allow the opportunity for everyone to get a training option each day, particularly when we get busier as the weeks go on.
  • All A1 workouts are released at 18:00 the previous day and classes can be booked 40 hours before start.

Gym Refurb:

The refurbishment of the gym is ongoing and the near future will see a contemporary new facade for the shower block and the installation of new bike racks!  Until further guidance is released, the showers and changing areas will unfortunately remain closed. We will keep you updated when this changes.  

For those of you who didn’t make it in this week, we would encourage you to come in for your first session this coming week.  It’s been a long time in lock down and we are aware that the majority of us are not in the same condition that we were 6 months ago. We have programmed to reflect this and in every class will give scaling options as usual!  Come in, lift some weights and have fun!
