CFG WEEKLY UPDATE

Hi All,

This week has had it’s ups and downs but let’s get the not-so-great news out of the way first: Gyms will not be open before the 14th of September. We cannot express how disappointed we are with the latest release of guidance for gyms; but neither can we express how grateful we are for the support that our community has shown us. We are blown away by the ongoing support we have and can’t thank you all enough.

This announcement puts us 6 weeks away from opening our doors.  So that’s what we can’t do: get back together in the gym for training.  What we can do (and we did it on Friday) is meet up in small groups.  The trial on Friday was a great success and very much enjoyed by all who took part!  The situation is far from perfect as with the current guidance we can only meet up once a day with 4 other households, which doesn’t do a good job of servicing our 400 strong community (even with our lower numbers). Legally, we aren’t able to provide a full service to sufficient numbers but we are doing what we can within the guidance.

With this in mind, we would encourage you to meet with one another to train responsibly within government guidelines. Hopefully we will know on Monday what changes might be put in place to help us and potentially look at expanding to a few informal classes through the week at various locations throughout the city.

To summarise what we can do currently:

  • Any member can organise a meet up with CFG members via our FB members page but must do so responsibly adhering to government guidelines.
  • Stick to the social distancing guidelines of 2m
  • No sharing of equipment
  • Take a picture and post to our members page!
  • Currently no more than 4 households, unless groups are split into sub groups and distanced.  Currently that is the daily quota for socialising.
  • All training sessions (even ones attended by CFG staff) are set up as ‘friends working out together’, they do not fall under an official service of CFG, but rather a community gathering.
  • Stay tuned for more details to come out on Monday when the Scottish Government release the new guidance.

Now for the exciting news . . . . a Rogue delivery . . . check out the pics!  We can’t wait to get back and make use of it!
