This Saturday – 11.00 – CrossFit Kids & 11.15 – Girls WOD.

By now many of you will have read our page regarding the Competitor Cell. We have had numerous queries regarding the validation process and we feel that it is necessary to be clear about this to avoid any confusion:

The competitor cell is open to anyone who has achieved a prerequisite level of strength and general athleticism and wishes to take their training to a competitive level. In order to demonstrate that you have achieved this level, you are able to register your interest via info@crossfitglasgow.com and to purchase a score card from the coaching staff. The scorecard will list all the necessary numbers for the strength and gymnastic movements required for progression to the Competitor Cell and will cost £5. This fee reflects the additional coaching time that will be spent observing and coaching movements in the validation of your scores. These scores are a minimum requirement for progression and athletes will also be assessed on criteria such as attendance (willingness to commit to team training), coachability (willingness and capacity to be coached) and attitude. Safety is paramount above all and any athlete with movement patterns that will be unsafe at high volume will be asked to correct these prior to advancement.

The primary purpose of the CFG Competitor Cell is to create a solid body of competitive athletes for attending both domestic and international competitions with the ultimate aim of appearing at European Regionals. These individuals will make up a team that will represent the community, coaching and collective ethos of CFG and commitment to the team is not to be taken lightly: the training is extremely demanding and a genuine desire to compete should be present before pressing to transition to this group. For further information, please contact one of the head coaches.
