Park Run

Parkrun is a weekly 5km running event that is volunteer led and completely free to enter. There are many parkrun events all over the world including a hugely popular event in Pollok Park. It's really accessible and a great way to track your running progress. Pollok Park hold the event every Saturday morning at 9:30. Interested members should visit http://www.parkrun.org.uk/glasgow/. From here you should register and select CrossFit Glasgow as your team! You must register before attending as when you register you are sent a barcode that you need to print and take to the event! This is scanned upon completion of your run and your time, position and age-graded score will then be made available to you online. I think it would be great if we could get a decent CFG presence on the first Saturday of each month. It would be great training for members but it could potentially be huge publicity for the box...some weeks there have been over 500 runners in attendance. Last week there was a large turnout from a local running club (looked to be about 20-30 of them there) and they were mentioned on the Facebook page, in the newsletter and the twitter account. Jack will be taking part in this event, you can find him on FaceBook in the member's section or at the gym most mornings.

Workout of the Day 15min AMRAP ladder wallballs burpee box jump overs (5 reps of each, 10 reps or each, 15 reps of each, 5 reps of each....)   Thursday 19.15 - there is no WOD, mobility is on instead with resident physio Jonny Kilpatrick.  This class costs just £3 and will aim to improve flexibility and educate you on how to use some basic tools to maintain the health of soft tissue.  You don't need to be a member to attend and if you enjoy the class please like his FaceBook page!

Workout of the Day A. 1RM Axle bar GTOH B. 1RM log GTOH   Registration to the CrossFit Games Open has started.  It costs $20 to enter and your sign up to the CFG team will help us retain our title of largest team in Europe!  We finished 9th in the World last year and hope to beat our previous score of 185 members signed up to the Games. You do not need to be a superstar to sign up, we do not expect you to win and as always we can scale the WODs.  It's all about community and a bit of fun.  Support your gym and sign up, the link is above and on the right hand side. Tuesday 19.15 - there is no WOD, Olympic Weightlifting is on instead with Ray and Colette.  This is open to anyone of all ages and experience levels.  £3 per peson. Thursday 19.15 - there is no WOD, Jonny will be taking mobility.  This class costs £3 per person and is open to everyone.  It will teach you how to deal with mobility issues and educate you on how to maintain your joint health. Saturday - 11AM - Girls WOD Sunday - 11AM - Team WOD On Saturday some of our athletes will be competing at the Scottish Powerflifting Open at Marinecraft Gym.  Get along and support them if you are free.
